About The Artist

Laura Norris is a native of Greenville, South Carolina and attended the University of Georgia, where she earned her BFA in Painting. After spending summers in Wyoming, Colorado, and a year in Montana, Laura was pulled to the Southern mountains of her youth. Laura moved to Asheville in 1996 where she found a job teaching art to middle school students. Feeling passionate about sharing her lifelong love with others, she attended Western Carolina University to pursue a Master's in Art Education.

Now an artist, art educator and mother, Laura continues to paint and teach as she raises her twin sons and daughter.

Laura paints the things around her others often don't take the time to see, whether it is the birds in the trees or the stranger buying greens at the local farmers market. Laura gives her subjects new life with her vivid palette and inviting renderings, allowing the viewer to experience the simple joys that surround us in our everyday lives.
